Hi, a little introduction as this is my first post. I'm the technician at a secondary school, we have a great workshop and i love my job. My experience of woodturning is limited to very basic forms but we do encourage the kids to use it as much as possible, some do and have some good results.

The reason I am posting is we have mislaid our Drive Centre. We took it off to use a face plate and now it has gone.

I have priced it up from the supplier (£88.06 +vat) which is a lot of money for our school budget. Can anyone point in the direction of a good supplier at reasonable prices.
Its a Scheppach DMV200, it has a M33 x 3.5 thread (not taper unfortunately). the part number 7400-7100.
If anyone has an alternative solution I am open to offers as we need it quite soon.

Now I have found the site, I hope to use it to find hints and tips to further my turning skills.

Many thanks

DT Tech, I take it the spindle nose is solid from your statement?

Do you have a chuck to fit? if so you can get or have a drive centre modified to hold in the chuck.

Welcome to the forum. Do you mean drive centre or are you referring to the chuck? Drive centres are usually a lot less than that. See here[/url]

Pete

Hi Pete, yep its a drive centre! I know the price is pretty shocking isnt it. I did follow your link, I had already spoken to Axminster who couldnt help.

Thanks for the reply

Hi, no its not solid, its threaded at one end to fit onto the drve shaft.

I did read the replies earlier (whilst still at work) and they make perfect sense, I just didnt get a minutes chance to follow it up. Many thanks for putting me on the right track.
I will look at buying a chuck and then a solid centre. Hopefully the people we bought the face plate of (in Oxford) stock a chuck suitable for our Scheppach, I didnt get time to check. And hopefully buying a chuck and centre will be better VFM

Cheers

There are a host of chucks that will fit the standard 33mm thread. and it would make more sense than spending money on a dedicated drive centre.

Try The Toolpost in Didcot, Peter Hemsley will sort you out with the most economical option I'm sure.

Hi folks,
I've just recently purchased a second hand scheppach dmv200 with the copy attachment. Unfortunately there is no manual with it. Anyone have one they could copy for me?
I'll gladly pay for services....
Happy 2016!! From first poster Peter

Yeah, I've found the exploded drawing. It's more the copy attachment I'm looking info on.
It came disassembled in a box so I'm putting it together via pictures! As with that method I'm finding parts I have no idea
Where they go. I'll keep looking!! Thanks
