Hi All,

Just a quick note to say im new to woodworking, but done abit of DIY around the house, shelves, wood floors etc

At the moment, im looking to get a set of tools together, both hand tools ( chisels, marking tools squares etc) and power tools, I was thinking about getting a router to start with, and maybe a bench sander. I have a drill and jigsaw already.

I will be using half the garage for a workshop, as the other half is taken up with storing the usual rubbish.

I live in norwich, so if anyone lives local who could give me some tips would be great

Any advice given will be greatly appreciated.

welcome to the forum , and to the woodworking slope tony - my top tip , get rid of the rubbish in the tother half of the garage as however much workshop space you have you need more ;)

Hello and welcome Tony. You've signed up to the right place. Great folk and great info on tap. Enjoy it.
Cheers,
Jim

Hello and welcome. Tony

A router's certainly useful but sawing would be your main concern. Particularly accurate ripping and cross-cutting. If space is limited think about a radial arm saw
