I have a new workshop/shed being built today to replace my old ( 6'x6' ) shed that my lathe had to share with the daughters bike, all my gardening tools, lawnmower etc,

A new concrete panel 12' x 8'7" shed - with some height space !!

I'll post some pics later when i get home to see it !

Just needed to share this fantactic news !!

Hiya Loz, I hope there were no Brown envelopes for planning permission, have a great time fitting it out. Try to think a head where you can fit the Bed at times ,buy one of thoes Futons they can fold up out of the way. Thats what I did :D Best of luck Boysie

Here she is,

Plenty of rafter space for all the stock

Beaded walls, so i can get all them tool holders, shelves etc up

Bigger than she looks, and needs to be blended into the landscape a little !!!

Gave the floor a coat of IPA wash last night to reduce dust when sweeping, and moving the lathe back in tonight !

HIYA LOZ, She sure looks a beaut nice and bright lots of plesure and Happiness ahead, methinks, See Ya! Boysie

Crackin' little home from home, Loz. Looks as if you will have lots of fun in there.

Great little 'haven'...

I stuck some carpet underlay onto a 4x2 piece of marine ply.
Nice to stand on, (Underlay side down.) Warm 'tootsies' as well!
Wishing you many more Happy hours at the lathe.

( S'pose I should learn more than the basics I already have. My lathe is a Coronet Major, Maroon.. ( Gawd... She be 37 in August! ) I use the attachments a lot, but I suppose the lathe part of the machine is going to waste a little!)

Enjoy your shop Loz. :eek:ccasion5:
John :D

Hi ,

Spent Saturday getting all the tools etc back into the new workshop -

Built myself a toolrack

Got the lathe in - and some ballast from all the breezeblocks found under the old shed !

The woodstore ! - need to cut up and seal that cherry bough ! - and i've just been given an old mahogany windows frame.

And still room for the gardening gear, and general storage.

Thansk for looking !!!

Looks even better now Loz :D
Is there any chance of lining the walls with some ply sheets.
Doing this will give you plenty more storage space, make it warmer, and reduce noise.
This is what i done to my garage, though it did mean me losing a few more inches of space but gained more by hanging cupboards and shelving on it.

Come on Loz, where's all the chippings and shavings. That place is too tidy.

Hi,,

Just thought i'd post a few more pics. I got an early present last night of a Record Dustbin type extractor, and i threw up some shelfs on the wall to give me some more storage. I also have my grinder/jig now on a shelf rather than on the floor !!

New extractor - Need some ideas of mounting the inlet if anyone has some !!! - I had to hold it with one hand and sand with the other last night. Anyone any ideas ?

New Shelf - The chisels wont be staying there - i need to make a safe place to hold them.

B&Q grinder and Sorby jig. New grinder on my list for maybe next year, this is fast and course, but working fine for me for now.

Bench with stockpile behind. That hole was already in that piece when i got it, a pitchpine bathroom shelf, with sink hole i understand !

Think i left the top of my polish again !

great shed!!! i would love a bigger workshop but the present mrs cornucopia said whats the point you'll only fill it

Filling up nicely Loz :D
I should put some steel mesh in front of tha window just in case a piece come flying off
Re- the dust pipe i would do something along the lines of CHJ as done with his dust pipe and put it behind in line with the chuck.

Erm cant seem to find anything in Chases posts as yet.

Ah I see, thanks guys. This does seem to be restricted to the headend. I think i need something i can move around, eg if im sanding something spindley !. I might have to attach something to the bedbars maybe.

Thanks anyhow - its given me a few ideas.

Laurence

ps - Chas's prefab items are very professional arn't they ! - I envison using cardboard and gaffertape !

Speanwoody kindly sent me an idea he had sourced in the interweb. Attached below.

If they are your pics i shall remove them if requested, but im sure others will enjoy the simplicity of the solution to my question.
