Hi guys,

That's a good looking website you've got there. Tom, could Paul not edit it using some sort of WYSISWYG option, rather than messing about with HTML?

If you get as far as selling your work and you want the option to be able to accept credit cards/PayPal, I use the PayPal email payment option, which is free to use (ie no monthly fees or set up charges) and just charges per transaction (I think it's 3.5% + 25p per transaction) I have used it for a while now and am very happy with it. The guys from the forum that have bought finishes and abrasives etc from me and used it have all said it's easy to use as well. Worth thinking about maybe? https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_email-payments-overview-outside

The only other thing I would say is that there is no address or phone number on the website and this can put people off, although I guess if you only want to use it as a showroom then you don't need it, but may be worth thinking about.

Anyway, grand job. Well done.

Richard

Hi Paul,
Just had a look round your web site and I find it very straight forward to navigate which is something you don't get with all sites.
Your gallery is excellent and the links are interesting in their topics and content.
So I would like to give it the thumbs up and also like to say that Tom has done an excellent job for you. Well done both parties!!
Best regards,
Ian

Paul, took this morning the time to look to your new website.
Tom made a professional looking website, hatt off for Tom.
I read you wanted to sell your work.
Maybe it's an option to sell your work via fine woodworking galleries, if there are any woodworking galleries in the UK, like an American penfriend of me is doing.

Thank you all again for your comments.
Looks like it's been well received Tom :D
I suppose that the homepage could be worded differently, and perhaps with less words but we thought it best to use the HP as a brief profile page and what i am doing.
Thanks for the link Richard but i doubt i will be selling that many pieces, though i wouldn't mind  It is purely just a gallery for people to view what i do,and just selling or passing the odd piece on :D
Perhaps if things do take off in the future  than we can adjust the site accordingly. Can't you Tom

The way that Richard has his shop set up all you need is a PayPal account as he does it by email. If you are selling your work though you need to make sure you have things priced and whether they are available. That's the only adjustment needed

Looks good, but is there any way to add information to the gallery pics? There does not seem to be any indication of wood species or approximate dimensions of any of the pieces I looked at. Is my browser (Google Chrome) not displaying something correctly?

Take care
Bob

Bob, no it's not your Google Chrome.

The Gallery thumbnails just have a basic Title text box if you hover the mouse over, the larger Linked images don't have that facility.

Thank you Bob.
This was left as is for now so i can, hopefully do this and some other alterations myself when Tom makes a video showing me how i can do it.

the functionality is there to add a description, if you look at the bog oak vase, it has a short description.

Sorry Tom, should have worded my note to bobham differently, was concentrating on confirming to him that the lack of details was not down to his browser.

I did assume that the function was there being as you are selecting wordpress functions to suit but was waiting for Paul to add info. as and when he got to play. (did not stop to look through your code)
