Re-grind into a skew chisel from a spent Henry Taylor Superflute, works like a dream, it's now one of my favourite tools, a lot of grinding though!!

Round and flat section hss isn't very expensive to buy - make your own tools.

I do, it's just this bowl gouge was at the end of its life, has a nice handle too, i bought it second hand, and it lasted me 5 years...... now it has a new lease of life, another 5 years i reckon.
