Hi to all.I have found this site today,I have been very keen on fret sawing for over 40 years.Quite a long time ago I made a toy fort for my son from a magazine called HOBBIES WEEKLY.I did so using a hand fret saw.Twenty two years ago on the 16th of January 1995 using the same pattern from HOBBIES finished a new fort for my grandson Adam.I was able to stack cut some of the parts that were the same,as you can appreciate I have learnt a lot since the early years.
The tip that I picked up and found out that I use all the time is after you have fixed your pattern the your piece of wood, you wrap the whole lot with clear adhesive tape. This allows the work to move freely on the scroll saw table. The best double sided tape I have found,is around 2 inches wide from Wilkinsons.
