Good morning all!
I have finished building my new workshop, (currently being wired up.)
I am a carpenter and builder by trade, but I love the finer detail work that I hope to achieve in a workshop environment. Next month I am starting my first workshop based job, which will be a double decker bus conversion for a local primary school. It's a really exciting project for my small building firm! I have used this forum for guidance on purchasing new machines, workshop layouts and the wealth of info has been vital as a workshop newbie.
So hello and thank you to all that have already helped!

Welcome and sounds like a very interesting project. Please do put a WIP with pics thread up. it would have a lot of people interested in seeing it. What bus is it? An old National or leyland, or something newer like a MAN or Volvo?

ah a Dennis, what is the conversion, classrooms, camper, play area?

Here's a few pics of the bus project.
The ceiling is cut to accept 18mm led track lighting, all insulted floors and ceilings. Once the ceiling is finished we'll start cladding the walls in the same 9mm ply. Some of the scribes have been tricky as nothing is square or straight or level! Lol! 1st fix electrics all done. Our forbo paint splat flooring is on order but taking ages to arrive from Holland. Below is a pic of the stack of ply that arrived to make all the furniture. (Note my apprentice is 6'4"!) Never had a HIAB lorry struggle to lift a load before!
Also attached is the mood board the designer gave me to work with, no detail at all, but it gives me plenty of freedom to improvise!

Looks fab, love the floor. Have to say though the handrail is a bit of an eyesore, could you wrap-it with something, or paint with something tough?

People pay good money for that kind of patina! Lol.
We have some decorators coming in to put some accent paint on some panels and the inside of the kidney seats, and generally tart it up a bit. Probably crack out some hammerite.
