Hi, I've finally managed to set up a blog come website. I'll try and keep it updated with woody news and updates of my little planemaking adventure.

Have a look at http://www.infillplane.co.uk

The Website is a bit of a work in progress at the moment, so please feel free to comment, or suggest improvements. I'm no web designer, but my mate who's quite good should be able to tweak things as required.

I'm waiting for him to sort me out a banner for the top of the page, so that should be along in a couple of days.

Cheers

Aled

Looks good Aled, but honestly, I think you need a better name. The web address if good but you should call the 'business' something else. I can imagine the conversation:

"Oh that's a nice plane you've got there, where did you get it?"
"It's an Infill Plane"
"Yes, but where did you get it??"
"No, that's what the company is called, Infill Plane"
"So? It's an Infill Plane from Infill Plane?"
"uh-huh.."

Whereas when you say PhillyPlane, you know where you are instantly. Just an idea.

...tempted by the smoother.....

Aled,
The site looks good - nice clean and uncluttered. It might benefit from a bit more pictorial detail. For example, pix of the parts that come in the kits, pix of the assembly operation etc. Also commentary on things like the bedding angle, infill wood choice etc

Just this once I have to agree with Wiz.

You need a better name, after all maybe one day you'll branch out.

How about:

"Woodworking tool kits from the land of Sheeps$%%%ers" :-#

Or maybe someone can come up with something more snappy :duno:

Interesting.... Aussies call New Zealand "the land of Sheeps$%%%ers" so you'll need to be more specific

Cheers, Vann.

Woodworking tools from the land of sheepsh@##ers, ex-miners singing in harmony, leeks, rubbish football, and probably the most grim city skyline known to man (Swansea)?

Not sure whether companies house would allow that ;)

Thanks for your comments guys.

I initially thought that http://www.infillplane.co.uk was a good idea, but the more I think about it, you may be right. I'll think about it a bit more, and quite possibly change the name. In fact I quite like the ring of Dafis Toolworks myself. Cheers Wizer.

I fully intend to add more content to the site as I go. The content will be along the lines of what Waterhead suggested, it's just a matter of finding the time to write it up.

Cheers

Aled

P.S. We might S#*/g 'em, but you eat 'em!

Having had a further delve through Aled the site looks good, my only comment is you have a few typos, nothing major (eg Rokwell, dodn, conact, jem). I always spot typos, blame my Dad. Mind you, doesn't stop me making a few of my own

That sounds good.

I disagree.

In these days of niche markets and the importance of a web presence I think that it's a good idea for a company name to 'do what it says on the tin.'

I would alter it slightly - to something like 'The Infill Plane Company' and keep the web address the same.

You've got the makings of a very nice site by the way.

But what's an infill plane? Do I need one?

Most definately. Think of the time you'd save by not having to sand all your projects.

From what I can see, your production times are quite slow at the moment, so an infill would definately speed things up.

Definately an essential bit of kit, I can't imagine how you managed without one so long.

Cheers

Aled
