Made a New Years resolution (you know, the sort of thing you do when you've had a few to many [medicinal] brandies) that I would make everyone of the family something out of wood, one of my sister-in-laws makes cakes and biscuits, the only thing I can think of that she would find useful would be a cake stand but I don't have a lathe,I have tried the old, "bit darling if only I had a lathe I could make Amanda a lovely cake stand" however SWMBO will not allow it, so what the hell can I make her?

The other females will be getting chopping boards and my dear old mother-in-law (98 this year) will be getting a music box.

Well mines been round the click one (or twice), running gear is starting to show signs of age as is the bodywork, but a damn fine baker and cook, and regular supplies of nibbles and tea to the workshop. :)

So on balance a looker might be a good trade to start with, but I'd soon miss the baking smells every day in the kitchen.

Phil mine is also a good cook, less than 60 human years but more than 50, own teeth and car (new Fiesta, just picked it up on Saturday) has done a good job of looking after me for 30 years, and TBH I don't want to swap her (well not on a permanent basis)
