Hi all,
Just picked up a large dining table (second hand) and would love to know what it's made from. Looks very teaky to me. However, the lady who I got it from couldn't remember but she thought that she wouldn't have got a teak table because it's not sustainable. I thought it could be reclaimed teak. Very few knots etc.
I've tried to take some photos of the top and leg but it's in pretty poor light (sorry). The ones of the leg show a bit where I've got my cabinet scraper to it to get the top layer off. One shows it scrapped and dry, the next shows that same scrape but wiped with a wet finger.
What wood do you think it is?
It's too red/orange/honey to be ideal for the room I want to put it in, so...
Bonus question - what results might I get if I bleached it with a A&B product (or would that be sacrilegious)?
