Hi All,

I recently acquired a Myford ML8 for repair which has a defective motor. The resilient rubber mounts have disintegrated on each end of the motor shaft (It has a GEC 1/2 HP motor).

I've been trying to find the rubber resilient mounts online but have drawn a blank so far. They measure 43mm inner diameter with 63mm outer diameter and are about 10mm deep.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I may find these parts as so far I have not been able to find any.

I appreciate I could source a new motor but at this stage I'd prefer to fix the one it has.

Cheers
B

They are not easy to find as a spare part.

Some US suppliers carry them:

https://www.grainger.com/category/motors/motor-mounting-accessories/motor-resilient-ring-mounts

https://www.eis-inc.com/Catalog/electric-motors-and-parts/electric-motor-accessories/resilient-rings

Measure them (possibly imperial 3/8" x 1 5/8" x 2 1/2"). Make a drawing of them. Then you could either cast new ones (Devcon Flexane is one suitable product) or get someone to 3D print some (such as JLCPCB in China) out of a sutable elastomeric plastic.

Edit: these look promising (the page says 2 1/4" but also says 2 1/2"):

Post a picture of the motordata plate as most of the US ones are for a 56 frame size.

See here for 3DP example:

He uses a nonagon for an ML7, so you will need a decagon for an ML8 as it is one more.

If anyone has them, these people will or will know something useful:
