Hi all

Here is my third plane (second one here ) , bubinga again (so very gorgeous) and once again I made the iron myself from O1 toolsteel hardened to Rockwell 60-62.
The iron is fine on this one and I think I actually got the tempering spot on :D

I wanted this one to complement the first one here

I am trying to experiment with ergonomics and 'feel' and made this one taper more at either end. I like the feel of this the most of the three so far, but loads of playing still to do and plenty more shapes I want to try out :D

This one is around 14 inches long

Very Nice Tony as were the 2nd and first ones.

I hope that you are signing them in some way.

If these trend continues amongst members then I forsee a future need for a tool making forum

Interesting that a thread about a diesel engine gets far more responses than one about tools and woodworking on a woody forum :? :D

Looks like a monster iron in that one, Tony!

Only 6mm thick and 50mm wide

Took a bit of grinding :? , but I'm not expecting much vibration
