Hi all
Received my long awaited lathe today and have to say its one helluva lump of metal, came on the same shipment as Pauls and is the same lathe.

Myself and long suffering son and son in law nearly pulled our giggling strings lumping this into the garage

The magnetic remote is very handy too (sorry about the camera shake)

Hi Steve,
You lucky B.......r!
Nice machine that will bring you hours of enjoyment.
Trust you haven't ended up with lumps behind your ears!!!
You will be expected to show some serious turning now mate.
Best regards,

Cheers for comments chaps. Still not sure about bolting it down or not?. Vicmarc say lathes should be stood on rubber or similar and if bolted down then not so much as to cause twisting. Guess I`ll try it and see.

Yes Steve,i'm not sure what to do with mine.
Phil did say not to bolt it down, but i suppose it depends on what size and shaped pieces we put on the lathe :?

Looks very nice :D
Is that a lump of laburnum in the background, waiting for you to try the lathe out on it ?

Andrew

Brilliant.. well done and all the best !

Cheers chaps.
Daren`t use the beast yet  . Just mounting the inverter out of harms (dust) way. Don`t know if i`m a bit short of ar*e or not but the centre height maybe 2" above my elbows so until I start turning not sure if I`ll need a step or not?.

Andrew - Yes it is a nice bit of Laburnum 20 yrs old and dry as a bone. I used a bit a while back to make an urn for a reli lovely grain but a tad `loud` for such an occasion??.
Just making a thickness sander for my segmented turning so have a few projects on the go hope to christen it soon.
Regards
Steve
