Very nice looking pen greggy. I have never used the cambridge kit. :D The kits i use are the European, Sierra/Gatsby and everyones first kit Slimline. My preferred finish is ca/blo, i have gone as far as 20 coats, rubbing with MM every 5 coats then finish with renaissance wax.
I am a member of the IAP. If you have not done this already, have a look, it's an excellent site. I have learnt a lot from viewing and watching the tutorials in the library.

Jeez Greggy, Wow I saw one of the slim ones made and thought ! this is it ,this is what i'll do what a lovely way to spend a few hours making a few of these!! Then you hit me with that, That would be one hell of a present to give someone if one could make it . But I sure as hell will get there sometime and with some help??? . REgards Boysie.

dermot, i am a member of iap and have been for about 18 months,
boysie, if you can do slimlines you will be able to do any pen kit. it just takes practice and patience, what i find the most difficult, is getting photos right and posting on this site

Greggy, Thanks for the encouragement , I to have registered to I A P and will give all my attention to the pen making classes. I think it was Blister that suggested pen turning should have it's own slot on the fourm, maybe so but not to the extent that that turning should be divided into two sections. That is the opionion of a newcomer of the turning scene.
I love anything to do with turning and will search for anything to do with it. REgards Boysie
