I have been busy over the last week building two CD/DVD units. These again will be painted MDF but have been quite a challenge and an unusual commission. The tall Armoire will have two mirrored doors and the smaller unit plain panel doors. Here is a couple of shots of how it's looking.

The bonnet took some thinking not to mention very careful cutting to get right.

Hi Alan - looking very good of course, but I do have a small question... I don't get the feet shape relative to the overall design. It feels to me (the armoire) it has height, presence and some mass, but then I thought the feet look too small and don't answer to the style of the top. Don't get me wrong, fine work... this is a design (and hence very personal) question.

Alan,

With mirrors in the doors and with it being such a tall effort, will it be front heavy when both doors are open?

Andy

Thanks guys. Yes Condeesteso the feet are unusual but it was the customers request for this. I have already discussed this witht he customer Andy and the unit will be screwed to the wall...by me. As soon as she said it was to be 180mm deep I mentioned this problem and she was happy for it to be fixed in place. just seems a shame to cover all that nice wood in paint, oh well.

Thanks John glad you like them. I finally got these two units finished today after my compressor breaking down  I will be delivering them this week.

The armoire will be mounted to the wall and will house CDs while the smaller unit will sit on the opposite wall and house DVDs. :D
