multitool recommendation

I had the Bosch Green multitool and it lasted for about four years. I didn't use it every day, but neither did it sit on the shelf for months on end. For the £50 I paid, I would say it was value for money and was sad when it went up in a puff of smoke.

So I needed a replacement. I looked in detail at the options, such as the Bosch and Makita which were a bit cheaper and finally paid the money for the Fein, partly on the basis they invented the thing and partly on other reviews I had read. If you thought the Green Bosch was good, the Fein will amaze you! It is a really nice solid tool and the case is very well thought out with plenty of space for blades etc. Which ever you decide on do get a model with the quick change blade system. When I had the Green Bosch I didn't think using an Allen key to change the blade was a big deal - now I have the Fein I could not go back to that arrangement ever again!

If you are using it for sanding - I found that the Bosch backing pad and geniune Bosch sanding sheets did not last more than about two minutes before the paper was no longer sticking to the pad. The genuine Fein ones are much much better, and I think that is down to the pad rather than the paper as my Bosch papers last much longer on the Fein pad.

Finally for the blades I have found Saxton or Shark just as good the Fein blades - and much cheaper.

Hope that helps.

Bosch was rubbish.

I'll never buy a bosch tool again, fell well below the standard. I'd had it a while but it wasn't "dirt cheap" when bought and lasted about 5-6 hours work max.

I'd recommend the fein supercut use mine almost daily is superb, had the worx professional before which was good but the fein is defiantly a superior bit of kit

Edit to add

I wouldn't touch any of the battery models, not enough grunt.
