Following advice from the finishing forum I set off to Axminster this morning to purchase some shellac for the picture frames I'm in the process of putting together. A quick £7 ish and away we go!!

Now I've been considering a new P/T for some time (previous posts asking for advice etc.) but as I'm the worlds worst procrastinator I spend forever thinking, discussing and generally delaying on the actual purchase usually until the price has gone up and I can't afford it any more!!

Today was actually not that different but with SWMBO in tow who tends to get a bit p'eed off with all this faffing around leads to one of these delightful little beasts being put in the back of the car

The clincher was Axminsters current 10% discount and the fact that they'd wave the £50 delivery if it would fit in the car.

Some very nifty work by the FLT man and 30 minutes later I'm sat on the drive wondering just what on earth I've done and how the hell I was going to get it out of the car

And all because I'm one of the tightest so and so's you're ever likely to come across.

As I've said, being the procrastinator in chief usually means that this would have been thought through at least 50 times and then taken place with something close to military precision, - not this time.

So with the help of my 'little boy' (who at 6' 4" is built like an outside toilet) and a lot of grunting, sweating and swearing the product was delivered to the workshop. No photo's in case H&S are watching!

Now all I have to do is get some wheels and away we go (see, - I told you the £50 saving would be useful)

The next time I need some shellac I'd better go on my own!!

Well done, that sounds like me - I think I've spent a year considering what bandsaw to buy.

Good choice but, all that weight must have had some effect on your car, surely?!

You would be amazed at whats fits into a Berlingo !
You could fit a planer thicknesser a bandsaw and still have room for the wife,
I speak from experience, mind you the wife complained that it was a bit windy on the roof rack..

Two issues:

Firstly, it's her car and she agreed to it :D

Secondly, it's really only equivalent to 3 10 stone adults in the back which it's probably designed for.

No ill effects so far!!
