Well I've finally got a bandsaw up and running and its absolutely brilliant, how ever did I manage without one

The Mrs wanted one of those name plaques for the babys room, being tight I spotted a chance to save cash  , OK not turned but was the first thing I tried with the bandsaw.

and yes she liked it :D

Then I've had an idea for a 'Sun bowl' for a while but haven't had the means to make it,until now. I made this one as a kind of prototype to see how it came out, a bigger vesion will be forthcomming. This one is Mahogany and 4" wide.

Then finally(I may be losing the plot here from sleep deprivation  ) I made a little meteor from a piece of mahogony. Its turned, cut up on the BS sanded and finally burned. This will also be for my little lads room :D

You are moving too fast. You need to spend more time with the family JT. Your work is definitely getting too good so please slow down and let the rest of us catch up

Pete

P.S. Some really nice work there, on and off the lathe

Hi JT,
some impressive work there, particularly like the meteor - if that is you suffering from sleep deprivation, the rest of us don't stand a chance when you are firing on all cylinders!!!
Hope family life is suiting you,

Malc :D

thats great work JT,very pleasing to look at. How did you manage without a bandsaw for so long. Hope it's going to enhanse your usuall fine turnings even more. REgards Boysie

If you can do all that on a bandsaw, PLEASE dont buy a scrollsaw, never catch you up at all.
Looking great JT, keep it up mate..

Lovely original ideas there, keep 'em coming.

My bandsaw, recently acquired, still frightens the life out of me

Thanks guys, this saw is a revelation, its opened up another avenue on turning :D(Now I want more tools!!! )

Pete I'm getting lots of family time in the wee small hours
Malc ,family life is great 8) I'm really enjoying(most of) it.

Like the rest of the comments so far Johnny, I love 'em ! .... Each one is great... but I have to say I really like the meteor ....

I think you have earned the grand Title of " Johnny Innovation"... new, different, and best of all, very pleasing and effective ideas and execution of them.

Magic mate... they're all fab ! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

nice work jonny - one point tho do be careful of your finger tips when cutting tight turns like that on a bandsaw - you really need a scroll saw , which are more maneuverable and much safer (and a cheap decent one is only about 60 notes)

And you had your Bandsaw for how many days ???

Wonderful stuff there Johnny !!

Very nice work!

I like your sun bowl and meteor bowl. Both concepts have a lot of potential. I hope you explore them further.
