my first egg cup i really didn't know what i was doing used a spindle gouge

but i really had a lot of fun doing it :D

both out of beech i got from work (old table legs :D :D )
 
Good job on the first one Jay, looks like a bit of tear-out on the second though. Mind you that will get better with practice. Keep up the good work.
 
Better get some heating sorted Jay, I can see some long evenings in the workshop this winter.

Well done, keep it simple, keep it at a level you feel confident with and all of a sudden you will find yourself doing stuff without even thinking about it all that much as it just seemed 'the thing to do'.
 
Very nice,the little bead detail on the neck of the first one works well :D
I've made a few,find that 40mm internal diameter is about right for average eggs to sit in.
