Excellent :) !

Scroll saws are fabulous tools on their own but when they work in conjunction with other tools they can achieve very impressive results. Routers are not expensive and they can transform the work of a scroller. I know they're noisy and intimidating to some people but don't be scared, folks - they're not dangerous so long as a few common sense precautions are observed.

There are plenty of general woodworkers on this forum who I wouldn't trust with a tin opener, yet they can wield a router without maiming themselves. If they can do it, scrollers certainly can!

Errrrrr... am I going to get beaten up for that last paragraph? Where's my tin hat

? Don't tell everybody, but I'll be cowering in The Bunker if any scrollers want me.

thanks for your comments guys, the clocks are a work in progress really a change of direction for me , having done really well with my other craft items for the past three years i decided i wanted a new challenge hence the clocks.

I have sold my first two i put out at a craft fair before christmas so i was pleased with that.

i am currentley experimenting with different designs colours and woods.

one of the things i want to develop is putting profiles on them with the router.

And yes your right gill the router can be an intimidating beast but once i got to grips with it i reallly enjoy using it.

i can understand why they are a power tool that is brought at christmas and never sees light of day !

i would ideally like a router table for doing the profiles with another router but budget wont allow at moment.
