I thought he was going to give a comeback concert in the UK this summer. That's kind of a lousy way to get out of doing it.

Big Q for a refund at the O2.. Sha-mone Mudda F@#ker.

Do you think it'll be like Elvis where people don't actually think he's died?

If you find a lookalike and DNA testing confirms mostly PVC its him

I fail to understand how people can idolise somebody who effectively bought their way out of kiddy fiddling charges.

Cheers

They just don't believe he did it Karl
Personally I don't know how any parent would allow their child to spend time with a person who has such serious mental problems.
Particularly time alone I reckon he should of been known as Wicked Uncle Ernie.

If you grew up with the revolution he brought to music, dancing and video, then that's something you'll never forget.

Loads of people (myself included) were horrified at how he changed, both mentally and physically, but that will not detract from how good he was when he was at the height of his fame. Same applies to Phil Spector and a few others, too.

Ray.

No fan personally, but that's probably an age thing, but as regards his peccadilloes I fear with many famous people it's necessary to divorce their art from their private life.
I'm Jewish, but I still happen to like Wagner and simply accept that he was anti semitic.

This is just a bit harsh but here goes.

So what.

I switched off the news the am just because of all of the tripe that was being talked about MJ.

Overstatements such as the Greatest Entertainer ever etc etc are just boring and untrue.

My Mums friend Clive died yesterday from cancer. He was 83. A gentleman, an old soldier with principles and courage. He was not rich but so what. He died alone and forgotten except by a few people his own age. He was respected and liked for being a nice guy, generous and kind.

Did anyone notice. Nope. No one gave a ****.

MJ singer of a few songs and tapper of feet in dance, a child molester seems to be revered.

What utter tosh.

Alan

Well.. I am a massive MJ fan. I had tickets to see him twice next month.

I went to see him live at Milton Keynes on the Bad tour back in the mid 80's (I was 8 or 9).

He's one of the few artists that I listen to his albums all the way through and still listen to them often. People talk about the soundtrack to their life and MJ would feature heavily on mine. It's influenced the kind of music I love and listen to today.

I didn't take notice of the court cases but felt that whatever the truth was that MJ was seriously psychologically damaged and agree that whatever his intentions, he should not have been allowed to have such close contact with kids.

I think that it's right to say that he is one of the biggest super star popstars of our time. That's just based on sales. Billions of people loved his music all over the world and every single tour he ever did was a sell out.

That said, he's produced barely nothing in the last decade and to be honest, when I heard the news last night, I wasn't really gutted. I doubt he would have ever made any new music and so as a pop star/artist, he was already dead. Obviously his family and children are going through a lot of sadness but the music listening public and industry hasn't really lost anything.

Frankly wizer I always felt that he was naive, not nasty. Remember the film 'Big' I always think of him in that capacity?

Roy.

yes I think there is something in that. But the naivety is based around something deeply psychological. The people around him let it happen early on and it got to the point that he was in his own little bubble (pun not intended).

What I find most depressing is that he is/was the top news item. Then I see in todays' Times a small picture of a boy trying to give some minor celeb (Megan Fox) a rose at some film release and Kodak Pictures are asking 'Do you know 'Rose Boy' as we want to give him $5000 and a chance to meet Megan Fox'. Small wonder our society has lost its' perspective.
