hi, sorry if this question has already been answered but here goes, i am a carpenter/fitter and i am looking for a new accurate portable compound mitre saw, up until now i have been using a dw 707 and find it very accurate but always found the depth of cut an issue, at the moment i have a dw 718 and have yet to use it extensively but i think it is too large and may take it back for refund, can anyone help with this any reviews on 718, or suggest an alternative, does anyone know what the kitchen fitters choice of saw would be? any help thanks.

Makita LS1013 is my choice. However, it's a sliding CMS and more expensive than the DeWalt. It's portable and comes with it's own folding stand. Cracking saw, but models from EB and Bosch also get a good press here. :)

Ray.

thanks ray, my mate has the makita and i dont really like the saw, i have some makita kit but have never been keen on their scms, although the dewalt 718 is big i actually find it more portable than the makita 10", anyway like i said i have not had chance to really use the dewalt yet but have an old station house conversion to 2nd fix and the kitchen so ill let you guys know how i get on with 718, have read so many bad reviews about it, think i bought it a bit hastily!
