My FS30 planer thicknesser is out of alignment by 1.5mm across the 300mm thicknesser bed.

Its easy to align the planer tables but i cant find anyway to re align the thicknesser bed as it comes up on a single shaft. The teresa cutter block has no alignment adjustment as its fitted to the machine via two none adjustable brackets.

Does anyone know how to re align the thicknesser bed?

Thanks.

Hi bob
I have this machine just the 1995 version no terse head :(
got it second hand . the only way to level the thicknesser is to shim the cutter head the feed rollers are adjustable so start by making the head parallel to the thicknesser table and then make in feed and out feed tables set to the cutter head. if this is a new machine i would contact minimax and see if they have a technician to fix this for you. if its second hand like mine was. a day of setting and you have a great machine got mine for 950 euros.
regards richard

Thanks Richard, I got mine second hand but it cost me £1400.

Could you explain what you mean by shim the cutter head? Are you suggesting I should add shims to where the blocks that hold the cutter head bolt to the sides of the machine?
When I looked at it earlier that was the only way I thought it could be done. But it didn't seam very user friendly to have to add thin shims of metal in between the surfaces to space the block up to level the cutter to the bed.

I dont think the feed rollers would adjust the way the blades cut so I didnt bother trying that.

Thanks again.

i used electrical tape 2 layers fixed mine it wasn't out by much yes the blocks can unbolt put it underneath the bracket then ur cutter head then the cap should make it parallel with the bed its a pain in the hole but only solution I saw,
I also don't adjust ever the depth of my surfacer always take 1mm as it doesn't raise uniform ally so set it up and don't adjust it.

I find the thicknesser to be very precise for raising up just watch out u need to take at least half a mm at a time or the indeed will leave marks. well on my machine the indeed roller can be set for more or less pressure i didn't adjust mine.

great tool tho i got mine for a steal sold my old sip 12 inch planer thicknesser for 450 so was happy out for the improvement in robustness and quality.

enjoy and welcome to the forum.

post pictures of your fix/ solution when u get it done . I hadn't the time to do so, missing my workshop as i've been in america for a year working in millwork when i get back home will try set up my small shop better.

again best of luck and I would pay more for my machine if it had a terse head. you got a nice tool.
