Just fell over this whilst trawling around the web for some free html templates.

Much as I dislike Microsoft and Uncle Bills attempts at global domination - I couldn't resist signing up for the free basic package.

At the moment (as I read it) you get a free domain name, website hosting and non FTP access to your very own website - a bit restricted in terms of customisation - but quite professional looking.

Anyone else tried it?

Chris.

In order to use Microsoft Office Live, you will need to have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later running on Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Microsoft Windows Server 2003. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer from the Microsoft Download Center.

No I haven't and won't be signing it up, nothing to do with the quest for world domination either.

I know someone who has been using the American version to sell his fretwork and he's very happy with it.

Don't know what the reasoning is mr...I personally don't use Internet explorer, I'm a Firefox fan, likewise Mozilla Thunderbird, but I'm happy (almost) to use IE to edit a free website hosted for free using a domain name that came free.

Chris.

Reasoning quite simply that I run firefox on a linux platform, I have nowt against Msoft but I prefer the open source model.

Well, I'm a Firefox user too. But as I see it, the 500mb hosting of pictures with a free domain name is great for nothing, even though you must use IE to do the upload. There is a 10Gb per month traffic limit on the free basic account.
I've signed up just to have a play with it. We'll see.

Lee.
