Hand held circular saws:
I'm currently using a borrowed no-name 7 1/4" circular saw after someone was kind enough to steal my Makita So I'm on the lookout for a replacement. I'd usually go for Makita but (without meaning to sound vain) I don't like the look of them. So I was thinking of getting a Metabo KS54 160mm saw, just wondered if anyone had any opninions on this? It's a bit smaller but the 54mm cutting depth would be ok as the thickest things I usually cut with this type of tool is 2" thick roofing timber. When doing compond cuts on the hips and jack rafters I normally use the circular and finish off with a handsaw anyway so the smaller blade size is ok. The majority of use is cutting ply (usually 3/4") so the smaller size and lighter weight would be good.
Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
