It has "Made in England" cast into the body at the rear and "No 4" at the front. It is an almost exact copy of a Stanley No 4 I have got. They are shown here side by side. Excuse the rust :oops: I haven't touched either of them yet.

I have never heard of "Master" brand and can't find anything. Anyone seen one of these before?

Cheap offbrand planes like this can be quite useful--i once had one that was broken off to the throat given to me ---i ground it to shape & filed the ground body square edges off & use it as a chile plane in hard to get to areas,another thing that can be done is to shorten the back of the blade so the frog angel can be ground down(to give the blade a lower angle)the blade needs to be shorter to clear the back handel,

Yes, looks decidedly blue. Is the blade or cap iron stamped? Also does it say anything like "Made in England" anywhere?
