Is it worth sharpening the blade on my little marples bow saw?
Has anyone sharpened one of those blades, cant think how to clamp it for filing as its so narrow :? . Has any body any tips or suggestions?
Cheers Mr Spanton :D

Hi,

I did one of mine the other day I just set a bit extra tension on the blade, clamped the frame in my woodwork vice and used a needle file while supporting the blade with my other hand to stop it from vibrating. It worked a treat cuts great now, if you can't get on with that how about cutting a shallow kerf with it a piece of wood and use that to stiffen the blade where you are filing.

Thanks for that pete :D
I have some of those needle files that I use for tennon saws
When I thought about it a bit I thought perhaps just use my small metal vice clamp the blade with it sticking out the end and file a few teeth then move it along an inch or so then file some more?
I'll try your sugestion first, wont have to dismatle it first then!!
cheers Mr Spanton :D
