Makita Orbital sanders

Fair enough …but a week off work this week to move a few projects forward and I loose the use of the sander until next week in reality

If getting the jobs out of the way is paramount then send it back for a refund and drive to the nearest local seller and walk out of the store with it. I'm not sure how it is for you but there are over 20 sellers in Saskatoon (pop approx 300,000) according to Makita's website. Might cost more but you will be sanding by lunch tomorrow.

I got a replacement pad next day from Amazon (£21) …might just bite on the bullet and stay away from this seller for future purposes

Update ….the seller has now offered to cover the cost of the pad as a partial refund

To be fair to them they probably want to check the sander over to make sure the problem was just a faulty pad (or a bad catch).
