I decided to replace my old Makita cordless (8443 dwde 18v) and went for a BHP451SFE. I haven't been able to find much information or reviews on the web but I'm pretty sure I've made a good choice. With the exception of 1 dewalt, all the cordless drills I've had have been Makita. From 7.2v to 18v, they're always been good. Should hopefully be here on Thursday, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone had one of these and what they thought about it.

Hi scooby
There was a reveiw in one of the woodworking mags and they said it was a good buy, so I think you will be very happy and if you are after an impact driver at some time.
I got a 14v Makita for £120 on Ebay, it just comes with a 110 charger :D

Scooby,

I have had the 18V BHP451SFE for about 5 months now and I can guarantee that you will be well pleased with your purchase. It is a superb tool that does everything you ask of it and more.

Alright they cost a few bob more then other drills, but then IMHO it is heads and shoulders above most of the competition.

Any questions just ask.

Cheers

Mike

I think one of the few that would give a run for its money is MAKITA 8444DWFE which is what I have plus the imact driver  :D .
Ps Both Makita
Enjoy your new toy, I mean tool

I'm looking forward to using it. I don't know why :? It'll do the same thing that my old drills did but I'm still strangely looking forward to it.

Only problem is, having new power tools is counter productive as I'll spend half the time cleaning it  It's great when the 'honeymoon period' is over and you don't mind them getting dirty.

I think I'm still talking about drills here :?
