Hi, i have a makita 440 vacuum with power take off which is used when sanding, biscuiting ect. The other day when in use I turned around to see white smoke billowing out and then it cut out. I took apart and saw that the motor coil was all melted together and burn't.
It's about 2 years old so out of gaurantee. I called makita and they said to send it in and if they deem it wear and tear then there's nothing they can do, if it's a manufacturing fault then they may replace it.
Does anybody know what my chances are before sending it as the postage is really expensive and money which I would use to replace it. Surely it should last longer than 2 years.
Any experience and advice welcomed, many thanks in advance
Nathan
