Well , with all these forum members now turning pens

Looks like we may need a new section listing ?

" Stands back and waits for the flack "

What do you think ??

Mornin' Blister.

I think it's early days yet to be thinking about another section for pen makers, BUT if the popularity of turning pens continues at this rate we may need one.

It's funny how our trends still follow our cousins from over the water, they have had pen sections for years in the US, now the interest here seems to be picking up as well.

please, no.

We don't have one for bowls, and one for rustic etc. Let's leave them all in Turning.

As long as the subject is clear, those who want to avoid them can easily do so. Although I don't do pens, I have previously. I still look at them, and reckon there are always things to learn, even if that isn't your thing.....

I agree Nick!

(Won't be long before some other aspect of turning goes 'hot' )

I agree too - I don't turn pens myself but the questions are still valid and I love to see the work.

well guys, all i do is turn pens. and i must say i agree with you , you dont need a section on pen turning as there are plenty of sites dedicated to pen makers and turners. i think this forum is just write  at the moment =D>

I don't turn pens and at the moment have no thought of doing so but I enjoy seeing wood being turned into something of beauty. Also those who at the moment only turn pens have the advantage of the years of wisdom and experience that the 'elder statesmen' on this forum have which may be lost if they only went to a pen forum. I think that the huge variety of things we all turn is a major part of the forum and it would be sad if it started to split up into different sections

Sums it up for me also.I can see the beauty and appreciate the skill of all types of work, regardless of if I have tried them personally.
