Well seeing as how i am now latheless for a while thought i would make a start on cutting up some of the logs i've accumilated over the last twelve months  mainly Laburnum,Apple,Sycamore,Cherry.
So i wheeled the ones i wanted to do into the shop and made a start, and after now cutting them up into mainly half logs, which were cut using the bandsaw and also the chainsaw for the ones that were too big,i can't wait to get them on the lathe.
Some of the Sycamore has started to spalt, and looks really nice, and the Cherry and Laburnum also look interesting
Here are a few piccys of me efforts.
Just some of the logs.
Here i am cutting the pith out of a Sycamore log using the electric chainsaw.
The Sycamore log cut in half.
Finally the finely balanced log pile sealed both ends using PVA.
The whole logs at the front i have kept for doing some hollow forms
