Does anyone know if a LN Cherry or Cocobolo tote will fit on a Stanley or Record No. 4? (Made around 1950's)

Hi,
Why buy one? this forum is about woodwork, the handle (tote) is wood make one. I have made a few my self the only problems I get is the long through hole, but drilling from each end with a lip and spur drill sorts that out. Do the counter bore at the top first then the through hole. You can adjust the size of the tote slightly to fit your hand I fand slightly fatter is the way to go and you can "hand" it by changing the radius on the correct side of the back of the tote.

Agree, the long hole is the only tricky bit. I use a long HSS twist bit to drill it out done while the handle blank is still in a 'square' form before any shaping - Rob
