Almost woodworking....
One of my next projects will be to make a pair of French doors in Southern Yellow Pine. Already have the wood which is 'seasoning' as we speak. I plan to make them with inlaid stained glass panels and I have been looking for said panels for the last few months. Finally found the ones I was looking for (the auction ended today) and was following it yesterday with trepidation (4 watchers, £12.50 with 24 hours to go) when without warning the auction stopped. Turned out their 1 year old toddler had knocked them over and smashed them - aaarrrggghhh!!
So I need 2 stained glass coloured panels ideally 'Victorian' in age / appearance - dimensions can vary a bit but 30" x 11" (750x275) would be ideal. Anyone got any ideas (or even stained glass panels for sale)?.
I am following a couple of complete doors with stained panels but would prefer glass alone obviously
Thanks everyone
Mark

Hi Mark,

If it is any help I make stained glass as a hobby. I used to work for a commercial stained glass firm a long time ago but now only realy for pleasure.

I do take on commissions on a cost plus basis, if you are interested PM me and we can have a chat.

With regards price it raly is how long is a piece of string. The main cost is usually the glass, this can cost anything from £1 per square foot to well over £1000 (yes realy, and no I've never used any).

Regards

James

P.S. If you do end up going for old windows you will probably find that the cement has gone in them. give me a shout and I can talk you through replacing it (not hard but messy)
