Hi folks,

I have a lathe which was previous used in a school. It weights an absolute tonne.

Does anyone know the make/model? It looks kind of like a Union but there are no plates or markers so perhaps a cheaper version?

It has an integrated sanding wheel.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Bob

Ok so I don't really know my way around a lathe. Is the Morse taper size the measurement on the attached picture?

If so then it's 24mm so I'm guessing it's a no. 3 Morse taper.

Where does that leave the Union Jubilee theory?

Advanced the tailstock more, that hole will be housing the actual MT attachment point. Based on the size of things around it I'd suggest 1MT is actually about right.

Should be a serial number stamped on right hand end if the bed which will allow you to find out when it was made. Very useful machine will run all day. Lots of info on Tiny Griffiths lathes uk site. There’s an owners group on facebook too.
