once again george you have surpassed yourself, there is not one of them i wouldn't have with pride in my house but the second to last is my personal favourite, is it YEW.

Love those George, fantastic timber and lovely elegant shapes, inspirational stuff.

Do you tend to hollow out when dry or mainly on wet timber ? If on dry timber what tools do you usually use ? I have the Hamlet Little Brother but find it a bit tedious in use as it tends to get blocked up with shavings very easily, or maybe I need to adjust for bigger clearance gaps but then it cuts too aggressively

Cheers, Paul :D

sorry steve i forgot to put the woods on-now sorted.

paul- i always hollow when wet or semi wet mainly due to the size of my work and its easier going to hollow it out.
i use the hamlet big brother too but with a little brother tip on.
clogging can be a pain on some timbers but not many-it can be down to tool presentation aswell as cutter set up- the wet walnut is superb to hollow out on end grain- get some of them crotch's from your friend and enjoy :D

All great work.
I really like the scalloped edges at the top of some of the forms and will try it when (if!) I remember

Duncan

Would be interesting to have a rough idea of size of the pieces George, don't know why particularly just curiosity !

Cheers, Paul :D

Very nice pieces George :D
I do like the Horse Chestnut pieces, the shape and the two colours really do go well together me thinks.
Did you use a coping saw to shape the tops :?:

no paul i prefer rasps and sanding drums- the piece you saw is the 5th picture from the bottom.

Well, there's nothing to add to what has been said. Very nice work, I wish I had the time to even think about turning any of those. Great work.
