I'm in the process of laminating (well, - trying to!) an oval frame, - just over 12mm thick.
The former is made and I'm cutting and 'regularising' the strips to about 1.5mm. Appears to go round the former OK but I seem to remember reading somewhere that wetting the outside of the strip will make it bend easier. This is very dry wood having been indoors for quite some time.
Anyone know if this is right and if it would help? Would appear to make sense but not sure if it would affect the glue (pva) or cause other problems. Not looking to do all the strips in one go so time to dry not an issue.
