I have been asked to make a rather large knife block in bamboo..... not my idea I have to stress. She wants it to take 22 knives so it will be huge
Has anyone done this? I can't quite work out how to cut the slots for the knives. I presume it must be done as a 'shell' - ie make the 'inside' first, with rebated pieces of hardwood glued together 'around' the knife slots, then covered with a thin layer of hardwood (in this case bamboo) and a thinnish layer of end-grain for the top. Does that sound right?
Thanks for any ideas
