It's taken me several years to get to this point and there was never going to be a good time : For sale is dad's Kity K704. He passed away a couple of years ago.
I remember, in my early twenties, us both driving up to Axminster Tools (when it was a single shop on the High Street), buying this new and bringing it home in his Austin Princess.
Trained as a joiner, but having left the industry just afterwards, in my dad's ownership it only ever enjoyed light but careful hobby use. In later years it sat in his dry workshop doing nothing as he was too old and unwell to use it.
It comprises a 627 spindle moulder, a 652 morticer, a 636 planer/thicknesser, a large table with a Kity frame and wheels, and a 617 circular saw (with a table extension that he built and added).
The motor works and, as far as I can tell, everything else is functional (but would benefit from new belts and a little bit of fettling, I imagine). Original manuals and a few cutters are also included in the sale.
In an ideal world I would keep it. That certainly was my intention. However, I already have much of the capability of the K704 in the other tools that I already own so, with a heavy and sad heart, the time has come to sell it.
Given the overall condition, very light use and single family ownership since new, I'm looking for £650.
It would probably fit in a large family car with a roof rack and I am happy to help with dismantling. I'm located in central Devon.
Thank you for looking.
