I'm trying to get hold of the slot mortiser 552 for the Kity K5 combination machine and I was hoping someone here might be able to help in tracking one down. I don't know an awful lot about these Kity combinations and was also wondering if the Kity 652 slot mortiser could be attached to the K5. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't fit Chris and the only place you're likely to find the correct one is ebay but even that's unlikely IMO.

The slot mortice table fits through slots in the side of the planer body and into holes in the side of the thicknesser table. Adjusting the planer table then operates the height of the morticer. There is a drill chuck which fits on the end of the planer cutter shaft and accepts L/H slot cutters.

Do you have a K5 manual? If not then send me a pm with your email address and I'll send you some pdfs. Can take some photos to explain further if you need them and you can always email me with questions.

Bob

Edit... Does this illustration help?

It's not a K5 then Stevie unless a very old model which pre dates the K5 combi as even the original splayed leg model had the morticer through the thicknesser table.

There is so much confusion about identifying the old kity machines I think you need to post a picture of yours before anyone can advise you.
