On the subject of being divided by a common language, I've always found it amusing that Americans go horseback riding as if riding other parts of the animal was a commonplace activity..

I've a friend whose brother lives in the US and remarried a younger wife when he was in his early 50s. They came home, to Ireland, to visit his family shortly after the wedding and stayed with his brother. The teenage nephew just couldn't understand why such an attractive, younger woman would have married his uncle and wasn't afraid to share his opinion with anyone who would listen.
Apparently his face was a sketch when the visiting couple went horse riding one evening and the next morning at the breakfast table the new wife announced to all that she had "a really sore fanny after last night". He looked at his 'old' uncle in awe.

That one struck a chord. My boy died two years ago at the end of March (at twenty) and we say every time we pass a McD that's another £8.03p saved. He'd be welcome to any number of £8.03p's.

Ive been away for a week or two.
When I came back and logged on I thought I was actually in the Thomas Cook swiss money exchange, but decided I'd actually logged into the fed ex delivery site.
