That's the funniest joke that has been on here for months, I have always said when someone asks what a Structural Engineer dose "Architects draw pretty pictures, Structural Engineers bring them back to reality and make the building stand up"

Structural engineers don't specify cladding (it's not structural), I think you're mixing them up with architects or even worse accountants

one would reasonably think so ..but......
cladding does play a structural role, transferring windloads, impact loads, snow loads and it's own self weight back to the structural framework.
That is why guidelines for structural engineers covering this topic were written.
