The infeed roller on my jet 260 has become really stiff to turn. It resulted in the drive belt going (melting). Has anyone had similar problems? I wonder if I should speak to a Jet rep before I carry on dismantling.......It has been working fine as a surface planer and the problem started when using the thicknesser, and I wasn't pushing it too hard........honest!

Thanks Bob. Sounds like the same problem as mine except its the infeed roller on mine. Outfeed turns fine. I will get in touch with Jet.

Called Jetman, you could send him a PM, Nick is a helpful chap.

Hello DaveL - hope all is well - flattery will get you everywhere :)

Thanks for that Dave. I have PMed Nick.

Hi pitch pine, sorry to hear you are having problems - thanks for the pm too - received and will reply in a minute. This should be a fairly simple one to sort out, it does sound like we need to replace the roller and associated bearings etc. I will give you my full contact details on pm and would be happy to arrange whatever is required to fix this first thing Monday when the office is open.

Best regards to all

Haha - Hiya Tom - hope all is well with yourself

You must have been honing your wit on a Tormek to achieve such a rapier sharp edge

Look forward to seeing yourself and Blister too at Ali Pali if you can both make it again this year.

ps - just about to order a UKWW badge out my own pocket (no MP style freebie expenses for this poor plebian salesman) - do I get a discount though if I wear it at all the shows I'm going to do this year - will be from Shetland Isles to Portsmouth, and a smattering of Ireland inbetween?

:eek:ccasion5:
Cheers and all the best
Nick

......seems it shouldn't be a problem for much longer as Nick has been in touch......good customer service counts for alot......

Hello Nick. I'll see you at Ally Pally. Badge discounts can be arranged in exchange for machinery discounts....

Just to say Nick has arranged the new parts for my planer and some freebies as a goodwill gesture. Thanks again Bob for telling me about Nick and to Nick for his prompt service.
