Just this morning had the renewal for the van, £284.75  so thought better do the search thing although last year it made no difference well this year £122.59 :D with lower excess and protected NCD as well, so give my old insurer a call to see what happening, :  roll: no don't want to know, that is the best we can do, so sort out the new cover, very pleased (hammer) ---------------- the only problem now is so far in four hours I have been called nine times by various companies wanting to better any on line quote (which I can't believe they can) how on earth can I stop them? I seem to remember this going on for weeks last year.
Merry Christmas. :ho2

Not quite following but if that's yearly rate for car insurance you're talking about, it doesn't sound bad. I pay 298 euros a year for our insurance (traffic + for our own car too) and that's a good price by our standards.

Hmmmm I was with Hastings a few years ago until they hiked me up, maybe time for another look.

They are open to negotiation. When I last came to renew, M&S had a 'We'll beat your current quote by £50' deal on. Cut a long story short, I got Hastings down to within £20 of the M&S discounted price and so decided to stay with them.

We have two cars and when the renewal notice for number one ( 2 litre turbo diesel Ford) came in last month it was £103 and about £10 lower than last year. I did not bother to shop around.
The renewal for number two came today (1.8 litre petrol Peugeot) asking for £93.49 again about £10 cheaper than last year.
Both are fully comp, two named drivers with no claims protection.
Such a pleasant surprise for bills to go down these days!

Been with Hastings a few years now and never pay the renewal price, go in with the cheapest quote from a competitor and they normally match it or come very close.

Cheers
