Same eastern import as the SIP & Fox, which is well regarded among it's owners

I think they are SIP clones from the same factory. I was looking at the smaller 01332...there wasn't any difference I could see between the iTech and SIP side by side, but at the time there also wasnt much difference in price. On balence I would prefer a brand I know (SIP) but the iTech did get a very good write up in F&C.

Unfortunately iTech or SIP...it still wont fit into my overflowing garage so I abandoned the idea...in the abscence of DEFT though I would still consider one.

I know that you were asking for info on the Itech but I have had the 12" SIP for a couple of years now and the Itech is certainly a clone of it, even the colour and product numbers are the same (01446).

I would recommend it to anyone and if you have room for the sliding table then go for that too.

Here's a review I did, but unfortunately the photos are now missing. https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/view ... ble+review

Thanks everbody.
A smart review Mike, and provided I can get the saw positioned at the front end of my 17' X 9' Garage, I will seriously consider this model.
Don't know if anyone saw the FWW PDF regarding a single-garage shop, but that layout looks possible for my situation. It will mean stripping down my Coronet Major to a simple lathe, but then with a 12" 4hp saw I think the Coronet Saw attachment, (good as it has been) is redundant!
And that will save me a little width in the shop.

I wasn't going to buy any more machinery, but a good table saw will add a new dimension I think. And No. 1 son might be tempted to use it one day... in the far future I hope

Thanks again. I am hoping this offer price holds out for a couple of weeks more. Otherwise it's a reconditioned saw!

Cheers
John :D

I am in the same boat I need to find either an itech 01446 with sliding carriage or better still a startrite TS1 so I can see if I have enough room for it. Preferably in the north west uk.

Get the footprint of the saw you want, and knock up an MDF box to the outside dimenaions. (!/2 hour's work?) You'll soon see if it's feasible!

I did that with my Startrite 8" bandsaw.
It was too big really, but I bought it anyway, and put castors on it! Which made the difference of course!
