This is what I have been cutting today, not finished properly yet, I have done 3 of these but using different woods, the next one has the main fretwork done in Mahogany with the surround in maple, sort of a negative to the one shown here. I can post a picture of that one if anyone is interested.

That's lovely! and agree very detailed scrolling and the contrast in colours is spot on (love the oak leaves)
 
This is the other one I mentioned, not finished yet, has to be cleaned up and varnished.

Two very fine examples of scroll saw work. I love the detail John, intricate and crisp. I can understand why you need the smallest aperture in the table to avoid breakout and chips.

For those new to scroll sawing a lot of saws come with an insert plate where the blade goes, manufacturers will saw this is the make blade changing easier but in my opinion this is rubbish. Many of the apertures are far to large and if this is the case with other members saws you will appreciate the use of a sub table if you are conteplating making something similar to John's masterpieces.
