Is there any way of estimating the age? I have had a look online but no luck.

I have a very similar one which dates from the mid 1960's. It can be hard with some Marples chisels as they changed stamps quite a bit over the years. My oldest has a water transfer and red badging and I think that's a very early one dating back to the turn of the last century and still going strong! It was part of a small set which belonged to a dear old friend (RIP) who was a cabinet maker in business from the 1940s
