Hi I recently made this pen out of corrugata burl (hope i spelt it right)

got it from ebay came from australia quite expensive but very attractive grain

Never heard of the wood but it looks good. Unusual colour.

Looks great. I had bought some Brown mallee, which comes from down under and looks similar. This lump now only about a 1/3 cost about £22.00. So far I have had about 10 pen blanks from the lump.

brown mallee will have to lock out for that
i have two red mallee and two coolibar blanks
bought on ebay from same seller Glowacki Timbers
very expensive even with combined postage
but unusual timber

jayw don't know where you are but I have a supplier just down the road from me. They sell blanks, but as you say there not cheap. Thats why I buy the bur block. If you have any problems pm me and I will put you in contact. Keep turning....
