Hi guys.... are there any shopfitters on here.? or has anyone installed Slatwall panels.?
I do some voluntary work for a local cancer hospice and have been asked to do the odd job in their shop where they sell items to help raise funds.
Just this afternoon i found out that they've had to take some items from the display shelves as the panels couldn't(?) take the weight and were flexing. I asked how many fixings were used on each board, but of course the ladies in the shop didn't know.
I've done a bit of googling and from what i can see its recommended that they are fixed to battens that are already fixed to the wall. Well these boards have been fixed directly to the wall.... but dont know if this is good or bad. I would have thought if enough fixings had been used then it shouldn't be a problem. And just in case anyone asks, yes the shelves also use angled supports too.
Oh, i suppose it would be helpful to say they are 8' x 4' panels fixed in portrait fashion.
As always.... cheers in advance
