With the deadline for entries into the forum competition I'm finding myself struggleing for ideas. I have numerous projects in the pipeline but all of them will use a lot of timber, take a long time to build and will cost a lot of money which I won't have until August. Are there any good web sites from which I can get some inspiration? I've tried typing- solid, wood, furniture, modern, funky, showcase, gallery etc in lots of combinations but I'm only comming up with retailers and the majority of that stuff is seating and sofa etc. Any good links?

A small low cost project could be:
Table/work lamp, jointed rather then turned, maybe with counter balance or tension sprung mechanism
Small wall hung corner cabinet with dovetail joints top and bottom and a door
Small coffee table with a hidden drawer in the end
A feature/themed book stand to hold the complete collection of Harry Potter/Thomas the Tank Engine books
Display cabinet for a collection of Dinky toys/figurines

Anything useful there for you?

Yes some cracking ideas there. I'll be coming up with something shortly. Thanks very much.

Oh Tom, the missus response to your link was "what about splinters?"

I'm a bit late to the party, but I find looking at Krenov's work really inspiring - I pay particular attention to the small details rather than the piece as a whole, it's these small details that spark of an idea. The Taunton gallery is always worth spending some time in - some amazing work in there.
